St. Margaret's C.E. Junior School

Sporting Success

Our children participate in a range of sporting events e.g. cross country, football, netball, swimming and athletics, representing the school with distinction, often achieving great success.

Cross Country

Congratulations to all our cross country teams over the last few years. They have represented the school fantastically, competing in weekly races against 15 other schools. COVID has had an impact but we have started this year's races and aim to complete them in Spring 2022.

The boys' team are leading their event, and we also have a good chance of doubling up with an individual champion.

Fantastic Team Results:

Y5 girls team - 2nd

Y5 boys team - 1st

Y6 girls team - 1st

Y6 boys team - 1st

Our teams have done very well in recent years.

> They have won the local league title

> They made the semi-finals of the county tournament at St. George's Park

> They made the finals of the Premier League tournament at Stoke City

> They reached the county tournament final, losing on penalties

In a tough league containing N-U-L School, we continue to do well, including making the final of the county tournament, losing out by a couple of goals.

Well done to the school cricket team who won the most recent Newcastle tounament, qualifying for the County finals where they finished third. We look forward to competing again in 2022.

Success Beyond School

Biathlon National Championships (November 2019)

We are immensely proud that Sammy became the British Biathlon Champion (Under 11) at an event in Nottingham. Her sheer determination and athletic ability led her to come 1st out of a field of over 60. What a fantastic achievement!
